Merle McCarty
Merle Levoy McCarty, 59, died Sunday, September 8, 1991, in an Oklahoma City hospital.
Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 11, in the Rush Springs Cemetery. Services were officiated by Alan Eck of the Rush Springs Church of Christ.
McCarty was born March 27, 1932 in Alex. He had lived in Rush Springs most of his life. He was a carpenter, a member of the Marlow American Legion and a veteran of the Korean Conflict where he served with the U.S. Army.
He was married December 31, 1954, in Duncan to Nora Bell Davis.
Survivors are his wife of the home; two daughters, Janet Jones and Debbie Hobbs, both of Rush Springs; 8 grandchildren; mother, Florence McCarty of Rush Springs; one brother, Verle McCarty of Rush Springs; and one sister, Leatrice Chapman of Blanchard.
Pallbearers were Jeff Turner, Bill Sweat, James Sweat. Louis Orr, Clyde Hobbs, and Edward Wayne Caveny.
